Nadia Oomer

MC, RCC

I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor and have been working in the mental health and substance abuse sector for over twelve years. I work with clients with a wide variety of psychological, health and life problems including those struggling with trauma, depression, grief and loss, addiction and relationship issues.

I have a passion for connecting with people through counselling sessions nurtured by mutual trust and understanding. I love building relationships with clients and creating an environment that is open to discuss anything without judgement or shame. Counselling allows a space for conversation that provides healing and self-awareness. I am grateful for the opportunity to provide this space and allow my clients a safe and welcoming counselling experience.

My work has taught me to believe in my clients’ strengths and to work collaboratively with them. While the dialogue may be difficult at times, the goal for my clients is to work towards gaining renewed hope, a deeper understanding of themselves and a reason to carry on. Through supportive, gentle and guided conversations, we will delve into challenging conversations together to overcome obstacles and provide clarity. I truly believe we arrive in each others’ lives because we are meant to cross paths.

Counselling is not about giving advice, it is about walking alongside people to help them see things they might be missing. My role is to be there at your side and guide you in your journey to become whatever you want to be. I hope our paths cross one day and that I get to an opportunity to work and grow with you.

MA, RCC-ACS, CCC

I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with the BCACC a Master of Arts Degree in Counselling Psychology. I am also a Professional Member of the CCPA, possessing a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) designation.

I have a passion for working with youth, young adults, and families, and have over 20 years of experience working with clients presenting challenges related to substance use, trauma, anxiety, and depression. My work with clients draws from a range of modalities, including: Narrative Therapy, CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing, and Mindfulness practice.

Working with teens/adolescents and parents has always been a passion of mine. I believe adolescence can be a challenging time for both youth and parents, but that it is also a time of growth, excitement, and discovery. My work with youth is grounded in a strengths-based approach, engaging in conversations that tap into youth wisdom and builds on their resiliency. I believe the work begins with building a trusting relationship with the youth, with the goal of strengthening the positive adult relationships in their lives.

In addition to working with individuals and families, over the last several years I have had the privilege of providing clinical supervision and mentorship to other counsellors. I strive to offer an experience in clinical supervision that is supportive, reflective, and grounded in trauma-informed and ethical practice.

I consider counselling to be a sacred space to sort out and navigate the inevitable challenges we all face in life. I believe in creating an atmosphere that is non-judgemental, solution-focussed, strength-based, and collaborative, while honoring each person’s unique gifts and resiliency. If you choose to work with me, I will walk alongside you while we build a shared-focus for our work, so that you can reconnect with what has worked for you and begin to stand up to what has been getting in your way. I look forward to meeting you!
